With subjects found in the quiet corners of Lakeland, Judy’s paintings are not the usual tourist views. Stone buildings, rustic village scenes, streams tumbling through hidden valleys, all of these she observes with a keen, perceptive eye and transcribes in a fresh, subtle watercolour style which is both natural and unforced, admirably catching the atmosphere and changing moods of the area.
A member of the Society of Women Artists and the British Watercolour Society, Judy has exhibited her originals at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in London. The Artist magazine has featured her river scenes on its cover and in written articles.
Judy lived and painted in the Lake District for many years, becoming highly acclaimed as Lakeland’s leading artist. She now lives in Scotland and continues to be inspired by the natural landscape.
